Marla E is a distinguished artist whose unique and dynamic work is displayed in shows, galleries, and private collections worldwide. Known for her ability to combine unexpected materials, she infuses each piece with an element of surprise.
A graduate of The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, Marla E also studied fine art at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. Her work has been featured in major Florida venues, including the Mount Dora Center for the Arts, Atlantic Center for the Arts, Osceola Center for the Arts, Orlando Museum of Art, Casselberry Art House, Casselberry City Hall, Lake Mary City Hall, the Mayor’s Gallery at Orlando City Hall, Maitland City Hall, and Art Basel Miami.
Her paintings have gained national recognition, appearing in television ad campaigns, as well as on TV and movie sets. She has been published in American Artwork, and her acclaimed Groove Series was acquired as a permanent public installation at the CNL Center II building in Orlando, Florida, later featured in a CNL documentary. Internationally, Marla E was selected for the International Artists Exhibit at Art Park Gallery in Rhodes, Greece. She was also honored by the Maitland Art and History Center, where she unveiled her public, solar-powered sculpture, The Cube, as part of their prestigious Art 31 exhibition.

Awards & Recognition
In 2016, Marla E was named Seminole County Artist of the Year, an award given annually to a resident artist, performer, historian, or author who has made a significant contribution to the cultural enrichment of Seminole County.
She also received a Professional Development Grant from United Arts of Central Florida for a special exhibition showcasing both her own work and that of her younger students at Casselberry City Hall. Additionally, Marla E was one of 10 artists chosen to represent CSX and the City of Orlando in a public art initiative. Her Urban Plaster piece, Journey to the Future of Orlando, now resides in Orlando City Hall.
Seminole County’s Artist of the Year
The Seminole County Board of County Commissioners, in association with the Seminole Cultural Arts Council (SCAC), recognized Marla E as Seminole County’s 2016 Artist of the Year. The award and proclamation were presented to Marla E at the May 10th commission meeting in commission chambers in Sanford. Each year, the County Commission selects an individual (performer, visual artist, historian or author) who is a resident of Seminole County and has contributed time and talent for the enrichment of Seminole County.
